BETH BOMBARA In the Water
“Way down here, the stars inspire.”
My two major creative passions are motion design and music; so working with a local songwriter to combine those two passions is a dream come true. My brother and I met Beth Bombara after he designed a poster for one of her shows. She fell in love with his painterly abstraction of her likeness, so we offered to explore it as an animated music video. The process was a 9-month long labor of love that stretched us to our creative and technical limits. It was a massive undertaking for just 2 dudes. A 4-minute song, my first full 3D character (you can tell), and my first foray into frame-by-frame painting. Yikes.
